"Sadistic, sociopathic, mad scientisits" - I say.
On top of the two brutal leg workouts in this 3 part series, they give me this!
WOD:
Five rounds for time of:
Row 500 meters
135 pound Power clean, 12 reps
95 pound Thruster, 15 reps
The Pack scaling:
Five rounds for time of:
Row 500 meters
95 pound Power clean, 12 reps
65 pound Thruster, 15 reps
My results: 3 rounds in 22' 28"
Similar workout: 500 m Row & Thrusters Completed in 17' 44"
Added roughly 4' 40" doing a lot more reps. I would say that is pretty good.
Thoughts:
Well I wanted to buff my legs up for some snowboarding this winter. And I am seeing some size and definition change in my legs, But COME ON! It is literally adding insult to injury when not only are we doing three heavy leg workouts in a row, but then to pair yesterdays wall balls with thrusters. My shoulders were killing me. Today was an epic fail as I could not complete the pack workout. What I did was probably some where in between the pack and puppy scalings. I can not express the amount of thankfulness that I am feeling about tomorrow being a rest day.
Addendum Lesson:
After trying and failing, you can clearly identify what needs work / practice to turn failure into a success.
I love that in my head I can hear you saying "BUT COME ON"! :)
