And the winner is...... (Or: "Boy, Does my wife know me")

So I have not been working out for the last 4 months, yes I know I should have been doing some cardio or something. But I didn't, So there.
Well know it's time to get started again, and there is a Giant Elephant in the room.
1). Do I go back to the Crossfit WOD's that I love but also put me out of commission for 4 months, or do I
2). warm up with some cardio and start easing into Crossfit.

The answer is: .........  Secret Option #3.
But before I reveal what that is I want to take a little stroll down memory lane. And I know you will bear with me,  because only my wife and I read my bizarre ramblings about my work outs.

About 3 - 4 years ago I was beginning to feel out of shape. Heavier, Slower, Weaker. I mentioned it to my wife who gave me the standard "you should go to the gym with me". And we discussed my love of sports activities and absolute hatred for gyms. The last thing I want to do is to go to a gym and spend an hour doing the same thing over and over again just to burn calories. It's not interesting, it's not fun, there's no long term goal.

A little while later she mentioned "You should check out Crossfit". Eventually I did, and I loved it. It was a program that was designed to increase the body's natural movement strength and athleticism.  It was short and intense. The workouts were different everyday. I was competing in a new activity with myself. And I was becoming measurably stronger and faster in very short period of time.  I loved it, until I got hurt and was unable to do my workouts for 3 months.

Well a few months ago she mentioned a new sport to me. She said, "That is the type of thing that I think you would like."  Well, I looked at the training program for the sport and what did I discover. It was fast paced, acrobatic, and mixed with Crossfit.

Introducing: Parkour! The sport of getting from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible despite the obstacles that may be in the way.

Now I certainly don't expect to be competing in any Parkour events. But the training program relies mostly on body weight exercises and increasing speed. So after some training it will help with my overall upper and lower body strength, for any event or activity that I want to compete in.

I am so glad you know me so well Babe! Thanks for the great suggestion.
