Workout of the Day (WOD)
100 Burpee Pull-ups.
I wound up completing the Pack scaling for this work out:
50 Burpee pull-ups with a low bar at a height that I did not have to jump for it.
(This is inpart due to my gym not having a higher set pull-up bar, but we make do.)
The first 20 went quickly and easily. The next 15 were tough and slow. I barely managed to eek out the final 15.
My time: 6 minutes 21 seconds. After which several gym attendees thought I was about to pass out or have a heart attack, I don't think they are used to seeing the aftermath that Crossfit takes on people.
Applicable Lessons:
1). I am weak and poorly conditioned. I need to work on that.
2). First rule for making significant progress in Crossfit: Even if your sore from the prior days WOD, go to the gym.
3). There is no good excuse for not trying your best.
4). Even when life is hard, you have to keep trying.
